Crochet iPhone case Big red flower

Case is worked lengthwise, for better fit. It will stretch a bit.

With basic color:
Black acrylic yarn (Red heard Designer sport),

4mm hook,
CH 50, to 2nd chain from the hook SC, then SC to the end 49 SC
Row 2 – 17: repeat row 1, fasten off.

Flower:
Mercerized  cotton crochet thread size 10,
Crochet hook size 1.50 mm
 Centre of flower:
CH 5, SL ST to the first chain to form a ring, Ch 3
Into ring: *4 DC,1 TR,* repeat 5 times (five petals later on), SL St to top 3 chains,
*CH 8, skip DC, SL ST into TR* repeat 5 times. Fasten off.

Petal:

Connect w/h SL St to  any of first SL ST on 8 chain loop (facing you right side) CH 1
Row 1: 8 DC, SL ST to SL ST on end of the 8 chain loop, turn
Row 2:  CH 1, DC, 2 DC in each of next 6 DC, DC, turn
Row 3: CH 1, *SC, 2 SC in next* repeat to the end, turn
Row 4: CH 1, SC across the row, (21st)

Row 6: CH 1, SC, SC, *2 SC in next, SC* repeat 7 times, SC,SC,SC, , SC, SC, *2 SC in next, SC* repeat 6 times, SC, fasten off.

Second – fifth petal: work same in each off 8 chain loops.
Tip: Before you start work on last petal, work beginning loses ends in.

Do not fasten off after last (fifth) petal is done.
Continue work dawn the side of petal: decrease 2 (each side of petal = 3 SC), and decrease 3SC on wide side of petal.

Black centre:
Into magic ring: 7 SC
Work as regular circle (inc regularly in each row), when is circle big enough to cover centre of red part of flower, fasten off. Join yellow. DO not increase, just SC around back loops only, then add crab ST (working backwards) add edging. Fasten off. Sew it on.

For a decoration on petals use Pearle embroidery floss, omit all around. It will give a slightly 3D effect to the flower.

Opening for ear set:
Fold it in the middle and find exact spot. Simply stretch  stitches, and sew it over using blanket embroidery stitches ( like you working on button hole). Work ends, cut off remaining yarn.

Fold it and sew or crochet it together (long sides only). Flip it over.

Overlap:
Join yarn (case facing right side) on the back of the case, SL ST down back top side. On the end:

Row 1: CH 1, SC down front side 15 SC, turn
Row 2: skip 1 SC, 14 SC, turn
Row 3: skip 1 SC, 13 SC, turn
Row 4: skip 1 SC, 12 SC, turn
Row 5: skip 1 SC, 11 SC, turn
Row 6: skip 1 SC, 10 SC, turn
Continue same way couple more rows, when you reach length of overlap you like to have, CH needed numbers off chains for a button closure, join with SL ST on opposite side. Cut off, work in end.
All done.
P.S.: Don’t forget to sew button on! J
